A TechPowerUp reader tested a Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra prototype with Nvidia’s N1X SoC, and some Vulkan and graphics benchmarks came close to RTX 4070-like performance.

However, CUDA tests, gaming stability, and power behavior were inconsistent because the device was running buggy pre-release drivers and firmware.

Despite the rough software stack, the laptop’s build quality and input devices were praised, showing strong hardware potential.

The leak suggests Nvidia’s N1X-based Windows-on-ARM platform could be a compelling AI laptop option, but it still needs major software and power-management work before launch.
