Japan is using vending machines along roadsides and service areas to make road trips more appealing.

By encouraging drivers and riders to stop, the country hopes to boost domestic tourism and spread visitors beyond major cities.

The strategy is part of a broader push that includes music roads, expanded rest areas, and michi no eki roadside stations.

It also supports rural communities by creating more reasons for people to travel through and spend in less populated areas.
