NVIDIA’s humanoid robot packs 2,070 teraflops of ‘brain’ power for real-world learning

NVIDIA introduced the first open humanoid robot reference design on its Isaac GR00T platform for robotics research.

The system pairs a Unitree H2 robot with Sharpa Wave hands and Jetson AGX Thor T5000 onboard AI compute.

It includes an integrated stack for data collection, simulation, training, teleoperation, and deployment across Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and Isaac ROS.

Researchers at Stanford, ETH Zurich, UC San Diego, and Ai2 are among the early users.

The open design could speed up humanoid robot development by cutting integration work and giving teams a shared platform.
