‘Miraculous’ rescue by US military saves 11 after plane crashes off Florida coast

A Beechcraft 300 King Air with 11 people aboard lost engine power and ditched into the Atlantic about 50 miles off Vero Beach, Florida.

The pilot got everyone into a life raft before the aircraft sank, and U.S. military crews quickly located the group.

Air Force Reserve rescue teams dropped supplies and hoisted all 11 survivors to safety before weather conditions worsened.

The survivors were taken to Melbourne Orlando International Airport and reported in stable condition.

Bahamian authorities and the FAA are reviewing the crash.
