Mobile Suica/ICOCA commuter passes usable even outside IC card areas; JR to launch "showable mobile commuter pass" in spring 2027

JR Group will launch a new mobile commuter pass service in spring 2027 for Mobile Suica and Mobile ICOCA.

The new “show-your-screen” mobile pass can be used even at stations and routes outside IC card coverage by displaying the app screen.

This will let users buy and use commuter passes without visiting ticket machines or counters, improving convenience for commuting and school trips.
