Xbox Is Ditching Microsoft's Copilot AI

Xbox is ending work on a console version of Copilot and phasing it out of the Xbox mobile app.

CEO Asha Sharma said the move reverses earlier plans to bring Microsoft’s AI assistant to Xbox consoles.

The decision fits Microsoft’s wider effort to pull Copilot from some Windows apps.

Xbox is also adding leaders from Microsoft’s CoreAI team to focus on engineering, design, and developer tools.

The shift suggests Xbox is prioritizing faster product development and a simpler platform over a consumer AI assistant.
