Daikin Warns Most People Perform Air Conditioner Test Runs Incorrectly

Daikin surveyed 3,000 people in mid-February and found 68.2% know about air conditioner test runs.

40.7% had performed a test run, but most used their own method or ran the unit as in summer.

Only 14.8% performed the recommended minimum-temperature 10-minute test, and about 2.9% had ever done the test correctly.

Daikin warned that incorrect test runs can miss faults and urged users to follow manufacturer procedures before summer.

About 23.3% experienced summer AC faults, with roughly 30.1% of faults occurring immediately or within one week of use.
