General Motors adds Google Gemini to 4 million vehicles

General Motors will roll out Google Gemini support to more than 4 million GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac vehicles from model year 2022 and newer.

Eligible drivers who opt in can use Gemini through GM’s infotainment system for hands-free tasks like summarizing texts, sending messages, planning routes, and building playlists.

Some entertainment features will only work while the vehicle is parked, and setup will require meeting GM’s requirements.

The move brings a mainstream AI assistant into millions of cars and signals faster adoption of in-vehicle conversational AI.
