Apple tweaks MacBook Pro 140W adapter design, breaking accessory compatibility

Apple changed the detachable 'duckhead' connector on the 16-inch MacBook Pro 140W adapter without notice.

The new 140W adapter uses a more symmetrical connector shape than the previous C7-style plugs.

Official accessories like the power extension cable and World Travel Adapter Kit reportedly do not fit the new connector.

Apple's website still lists compatibility for the extension cable and the travel kit sales page remains available.

It is unclear whether the separately sold 140W USB-C adapter on Apple's site has been updated to the new design.
