Elon Musk's $25 Billion Terafab Project Gets a Helping Hand From Intel

Intel said it will join the $25 billion Terafab partnership to help design and build chip-producing hardware.

Terafab is a Texas-based AI chip production project backed by SpaceX, xAI and Tesla.

The semiconductor tech Terafab plans to mass-produce is intended for self-driving cars, humanoid robots and AI data centers.

Intel aims to produce enough chips to deliver one terawatt of computing power per year once the Terafab facility is operational.

Companies have long relied on TSMC, which makes about 90% of advanced chips globally; Nvidia and TSMC also partner on Arizona manufacturing.
