First smartphone with color e-ink and LCD just showed up

Bigme revealed a phone that combines a color e-ink display with a traditional LCD in one body.

The LCD is used for regular smartphone tasks while the color e-ink is meant for low-power reading, notifications, and light browsing.

Color e-ink reduces battery use for static content and is easier on the eyes for long reading sessions.

Performance limitations of e-ink displays remain a challenge for this design to execute well.
